MoMed Biotech's Chief Scientist and 2013 Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry, Professor Arieh Warshel, visited MoMed Biotech to have in-depth discussions with the research and development team, to understand the progress of the R&D projects, and provide professional guidance.

Founder of MoMed Biotech, Professor Bai Chen, was invited along with Professor Warshel to participate in the "Science Café" event hosted by the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, as well as the "2023 Yangtze River Delta Cities Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Convention" organized by the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

01 Visited MoMed Biotech to provide guidance to the research and development team.

On October 31st, Professor Arieh Warshel, MoMed Biotech's Chief Scientist and the recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, visited the company. After receiving a progress report on the R&D projects, he had in-depth discussions with the research and development team, providing valuable professional guidance and advice.

During the meeting, Professor Arieh Warshel demonstrated his outstanding academic achievements and extensive knowledge background. He attentively listened to each team member's report and provided unique insights and solutions to project details and technical challenges. His experience sharing and professional guidance injected new ideas and motivation into the research work at MoMed Biotech, inspiring team members to think deeper and be more innovative.

Professor Bai Chen, the founder of MoMed Biotech, expressed sincere gratitude for Professor Warshel's visit and encouraged the research and development team to uphold their spirit of excellence and innovation. The company will continue to strengthen its cooperation with Professor Warshel and other top scientists both domestically and internationally, promoting the translation and application of research achievements, and making greater contributions to the field of biomedicine innovation.

Invited to participate in the "Science Café" event hosted by the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology.

In the afternoon of the same day, Professor Bai Chen and Professor Arieh Warshel were invited to attend the "Science Café" event hosted by the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology. The event, themed "Dialogue with Nobel Prize Winners - Exploring the Intersection of Biochemical Engineering and Medical Innovation," aimed to create a free exchange space for scientific discussions.

Professor Warshel pioneered critical methods for simulating biological molecular functions, proposing microscopic models for electron transfer and proton transfer in solutions and proteins. In 2013, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his ability to design multiscale models for complex chemical systems. As the first heavyweight invited Nobel laureate guest, Professor Warshel delivered a keynote speech, sharing his past research experiences with the experts and scholars present.

During the sharing session, Professor Warshel emphasized the importance of communication in interdisciplinary collaborations. He pointed out that in the past, cross-disciplinary collaborations in the scientific community were not as common as they are now. He believed that while an individual can have great ideas, collaboration and communication are usually necessary to better disseminate those ideas.

During the event, Professor Bai Chen and Professor Warshel also had an interview with Zhejiang Voice. They shared their thoughts on the field of biomedicine innovation and expressed confidence in the development of MoMed Biotech.

After the event, Vice Governor Lu Shan of Zhejiang Province met with Professor Warshel and his team. Vice Governor Lu expressed that Zhejiang Province has been rapidly developing in the field of biotechnology and greatly needs the guidance and support of top scientists like Professor Warshel. He was delighted that Professor Warshel chose to collaborate with Professor Bai Chen in Zhejiang and warmly welcomed his frequent visits in the future.

03 Invited to attend the "2023 Yangtze River Delta Cities Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Convention."

On November 1st, Professor Bai Chen and Professor Arieh Warshel were invited to attend the "2023 Yangtze River Delta Cities Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Convention." The conference, as a sub-event of the "Innovating China through Overseas Chinese - 2023 Elite Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (China·Hangzhou)" hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, aimed to strengthen connections and cooperation with overseas Chinese in the Yangtze River Delta region, link overseas Chinese wisdom and resources, promote technology transfer and transformation, facilitate the commercialization of scientific and technological innovations, and build a more open, innovative, and integrated future to contribute to the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta region's economy.

Before the conference started, Chen Rugen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Linping District, had a separate meeting with Professor Bai Chen and Professor Warshel, welcoming Professor Warshel's visit and expressing confidence in the future development of MoMed Biotech.

This was Professor Arieh Warshel's second visit to the site. Together with Professor Bai Chen, they delivered a keynote speech titled "Using Computer Simulations and Biophysical Analysis in Fighting Diseases," sharing their research achievements and cutting-edge progress in utilizing computer simulations and biophysical analysis to combat diseases. The speech was profound and enlightening, providing valuable learning and networking opportunities for the attendees.

This series of events not only affirmed MoMed Biotech but also motivated and inspired our team.
